EMERGENCY FOCUS CLINICAL OBSERVERSHIP PROGRAM

A well organised comprehensive in person clinical observership program in Sydney & Melbourne Metropolitan area

Program Directors

Key components

1.  4 week in person observership in a busy GP Clinic in Sydney  & Melbourne Metro areas (4 hour session - twice weekly - Total 8 sessions over 4 weeks -  flexible days)

2. Weekly 1 hour support with Online zoom Clinical Orientation & progress meeting with Dr Tom Lee and Dr Dinki Kroukamp (Emergency Registrar) 

3. Full access to Online Clinical Orientation course for 12months

4. Final day in person Career Guidance Session & Certificate ceremoney on successful completion of program in Sydney

Outcomes of Observership program

• Local Australian observsation of all areas of clinical practice

• Understanding of acute and chronic adult and paediatric, women's healthcare issues

• Communication skills observation

• Understanding of investigation and referral process

• Observation of simple procedural skills in a medical centre setting

• Local Australian reference

• 100 hours of CPD activity certificate on completion of all in person and online activities

• Full day in person meeting for career guidance to help improve and target job applications

• Weekly online meetings and complete online orientation session access including all the workshop to provide understanding of hospital workflow

Days and timing of GP Observership

• 2 sessions per week (4 hour per session)

• Each session From 10am - 2pm

• Specific Days to be decided by mutual agreement of Observers & GPs in each practice - flexible

• Weekend orientation sessions 1 hour via zoom

• 12months online access to full Clinical Orientation Course with all workshops and session

• Career Guidance Session at the end of the program (Date will be annouced)

• 100% attedance required in all session for CPD certificate and reference

Eligibility

1. Passed AMC 1

2. Fully vaccinated for CoVID

3. Anyone can apply (Visa, Permanent residents, Australian Citizens)

4. Passed Clinical observership selection process (shortlisting and interview)

Timelines & Selection

1. Please pay your first instalment fee ($1750) immediately (Along with selection of practice first come first serve)

2. You will receive an automatic email with confirmation

3. Further details of GP supervisor with an invitation and joining letter will be sent  

4. Observership commences Monday, 5th August 2024 

Fee

• Total fee: AUD$3,500 paid in 2 instalments of $1750 each over 4weeks

• 2nd payment link to be sent last week of observation period
