Step 1: Confirm Eligibility

• Have entered specialist training through a competitive entrance exam (e.g., FCPS Part 1 in Pakistan, NEET-PG in India).

• MRCP + CCT UK eligible 

• Arab Board eligible 

• Have completed specialist training and exams in your country of origin.

• Be listed on the specialist register in your home country

Training Duration Requirements

• Pakistan: 2 years of mixed specialty training + Intermediate Medical Module + 3 years advanced training in chosen specialty 

• India (MD programs): 2 years of mixed specialty training + 3 years of specific training in chosen specialty  

• UK | Arab Board | Other Counties: At least 5 years, with 2 years in mixed medicine and 3 years in the specialty specific training 

• Ideally 1-2 years of Consultant experience

Step 2: Prepare Your Logbook

• A comprehensive logbook is mandatory for all procedural specialties.

• It should include procedures performed during:

  • Specialist training

  • Any fellowship years

  • Consultant practice

• If you don’t have your original training logbook, you can recreate it using a template and have it signed by your head of department or senior consultant.

Step 3: Verification and English Requirements

• Complete EPIC verification and AMC verification of both primary and specialist qualifications.

• Sit an approved English language test (IELTS Academic, OET, or PTE Academic).

Step 4: CPD Documentation

• Provide evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD), such as:

  • Conferences, workshops, and courses

  • Clinical governance activities (M&M meetings, quality improvement, risk assessments)

• A CPD template can be completed and signed by your department head.

Step 5: Complete the RACP Application Form

• Specialty Selection: Indicate “Adult Medicine” and then specify your specialty (cardiology, gastroenterology, etc.).

• Training & Exams: Provide details of all training years, assessments, and final specialist exams.

• Logbook: Attach the signed logbook of procedural experience.

• Internship & Early Training: Document rotations, responsibilities, and assessments.

• Consultant Practice: List each consultant role, with clinical responsibilities, procedural work, teaching, and management duties.

• Academic Contributions: Teaching, audit, publications, CPD, and community activities.

• Self-review statement: Outline why you are applying, your eligibility, and your expected learning goals.

• References: Provide referee details and sign the declaration.

• Interview Availability: Confirm your contact details and preferred online interview location.

Step 6: Submission

• Convert the form into PDF and Word formats.

• Submit via the RACP portal/email and pay the application fee.

• RACP will confirm receipt and provide an interview date within 2–3 weeks.

Step 7: Interview and Outcome

• Interview conducted via teleconference.

• Final outcome categories:

  • Substantial Comparability

  • Partial Comparability

  • Not Comparable

​

Step 8: Post-Assessment Support

• After a successful outcome, you can access support for:

  • Application form completion

  • Interview preparation

  • Job search and placement in Australia
