Specialist Comparability Pathway
Step 1: Confirm Eligibility

Have entered specialist training through a competitive entrance exam (e.g., FCPS Part 1 in Pakistan, NEET-PG in India).

MRCS + CCT UK eligible
-
Arab Board eligible
-
Have completed specialist training and exams in your country of origin.
-
Be listed on the specialist register in your home country
Training Duration Requirements
-
Pakistan: 2 years of mixed specialty training + Intermediate Medical Module + 3 years advanced training in General medicine
-
India (MS programs): 2 years of Chosen speciality + 2-3years of Senior resident experience
-
UK | Arab Board | Other Counties: At least 5 years of training
-
Ideally 1-2 years of Consultant experience
Step 2: Verification and English Requirements
-
Complete EPIC verification and AMC verification of both primary and specialist qualifications.

Sit an approved English language test (IELTS Academic, OET, or PTE Academic).
Step 3: CPD Documentation
-
Provide evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD), such as:

Conferences, workshops, and courses
-
Clinical governance activities (M&M meetings, quality improvement, risk assessments)

A CPD template can be completed and signed by your department head.
Step 4: Complete the RACS Application Form

Training & Exams: Provide details of all training years, assessments, and final specialist exams.

Logbook: Attach the signed logbook of procedural experience as trainee, SR, Fellow and Consultant on RACS template

Internship & Early Training: Document rotations, responsibilities, and assessments.

Consultant Practice: List each consultant role, with clinical responsibilities, procedural work, teaching, and management duties.

Letters of Support: Will be required from all training and non training positions

Academic Contributions: Teaching, research, audit, publications, CPD, and community activities.

Self-review statement: Outline why you are applying, your eligibility, and your expected learning goals.

References: Provide referee details and sign the declaration.

Interview Availability: Confirm your contact details and preferred online interview location.
Step 5: Attach Documents

Curriculum/ Training program of specialty from (RCS, CPSP or Medical College)

All supporting documents like Primary Medical Qualifications, Specialist degrees

CPD letters and certificates
-
Logbooks as trainee, fellow, SR and Consultant in RACS template
Step 6: Interview and Outcome

Interview conducted via teleconference.
